[Bug 1324236] [NEW] Unable to open the Update Manager

Public bug reported:

Unable to open the Update Manager when there are updates and icon is
displayed in the left pane. Icon simply does not respond to clicks. To
update the program, you need to right-click on the icon and select
"update all" or close the Update Manager and open it again manually to
see a list of updates.
