Had to install Lubuntu 12.04 on a VM for some task at hand and stumbled
across the same issue. Solution given in #5 works perfectly but it still
baffles me how such a bug can exists for such a long time (bug was
reported in 2012 now we are reaching slowly the end of 2014). If I user
is not familiar with the way bug tracking is working and does not know
that he/she might be able to find some valuable information here on
bugs.launchpad.net, he/she can't install Lubuntu using the normal
installation because due to this ubiquity thing the installer simply
breaks and 1)leaves you with a half-way completed installation and
2)leaves you with a system that you cannot use and have to erase both of
which require additional time.

Bug description:
Installed both Lubuntu and Xubuntu 12.04 and they both installed but the error message still exists in the dropdown terminal box in the install window. No noticable problems as a result of this though.
