This is still very much present in 14.10. I urge the maintainer to fix this because for cultural reasons people in Québec will not be willing to choose Toronto for time zone, Toronto is not a time zone per se, this used to work for year and someone created the problem by removing Montréal from the tzdata database, bug 1268585 and 1262458 are duplicates, this affects many users.
Dimitri please look into this again and just don't decide this is a non issue!
