Reviewing the files from your upgrade attempt you seem to have enabled a
PPA that provides Xorg packages. This will prevent the upgrade as that
PPA contains different versions of packages essential to Ubuntu.  The
page, https://launchpad.net/~xorg-edgers/+archive/ppa, contains details
on to how to revert to the official Xorg packages for the xorg-edgers
PPA.  Instructions for reverting to official Xorg packages should be
similar for the PPA that you have enabled.

  ubuntu upgrade from 13.10 to 14.04 did not work

Status in “ubuntu-release-upgrader” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  I tried to upgrade my release of ubuntu but this did not work. I
  installed bumblebee, maybe this causes some crash? Or could it be
  because I reinstalled xorg? Also installed linux-generic-lts-raring
  but other than that I can not find anything in my personal log file,
  see attachment, that could have caused the crash.
