I am setting the status of this one to invalid.

It turns out that this never was a problem with the installation-guide
project/package but rather a problem with some long lost process for
converting the installation guide to some themed content for inclusion
in help.ubuntu.com. It is that process that: Is lost; Was never updated
to the new theme; Left an annoying legacy mess within the
help.ubuntu.com file structure.

We are merely including the installation guide without any theme, which
is identical to how it displays if one installs the package.

Title:
  Uses old theme and has bad links

Status in “installation-guide” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  It seems that the installation guide was never updated for the new
  theme.

  There is the “old” theme, I refer to it as the one with the “brown” background.
  And the “new” theme, I refer to it as the one with the “red” background.

  For any web pages that are still using the old theme, the included images
  in various sub pages of https://help.ubuntu.com/ are missing.

  For example (from the html code of the installation guide):

  <img alt="Ubuntu" id="logo"
  src="https://help.ubuntu.com/htdocs/ubuntunew/img/logo.png" />

  Try to open:

  https://help.ubuntu.com/htdocs/ubuntunew/img/logo.png

  It is not there. To be clear, we have no intention of putting the file there, because the root issue
  is the theme not the files.

  The 12.04 version of the installation guide can be navigated  to via
  https://help.ubuntu.com/12.04/index.html

  However, the 12.10 version can not be navigated to via
  https://help.ubuntu.com/12.10/index.html
  even though it is there. 

  Now we are trying to pull together the 13.04 offline version of
  help.ubuntu.com and face the same issue.
