[Bug 1394331] Re: installer crashed

Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot 1394331 at bugs.launchpad.net

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. I noticed that you are installing an older version of
Ubuntu, unless you have some specific requirements to run an older
release I recommend trying to install the latest LTS version of Ubuntu.
We released version 14.04.1, in July of 2014, and it is a Long Term
Support release. You can find different ways to obtain it at
http://download.ubuntu.com. In the event that you really want to run
the older version of Ubuntu please set this bug's status back to New.
Thanks!

Title:
  installer crashed

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
I wanted to install Ubuntu 11.10 from a disc to an older notebook
(Fujitsu Siemens Amilo L7310W), but the installer just stopped in the
middle of the installation, and it said that the installation
  collapsed.

I tried to use an older, unsupported version of Ubuntu because this
notebook using an old, special gpu (S3 Graphics) and newer Ubuntu
versions might not support this gpu.
