It looks like you had windows installed in bios mode, and somehow
managed to create an EFI system partition, even though the disk is not
GPT.  Blow away these partitions and reinstall.  See if you can go into
your bios and disable uefi, or get it to boot the cd not in efi mode (
you can tell this worked because you will get the syslinux graphical
boot menu instead of the grub boot menu ).  If you can't manage that,
then choose the "something else" option in the installer, create an ext4
partition to use as "/", and proceed.

  When trying to install Ubuntu 14.04 on the Asus X501A not see partitions with Windows.
  After installing Ubuntu 14.10 on the Asus X501A with UEFI and Windows 7, grub2 does not load Windows 7.
