Bug description:
  When trying to update from 14.04 to 14.10 the update manager closes
  itself and I can't go ahead with the installation. I've tried several
  ways, as...

  sudo rm /var/lib/apt/lists/* -vf
  sudo apt-get update

  sudo apt-get update
  sudo apt-get upgrade
  sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

  ... or even ALT+F2 and type "update-manager" to "manually update", but
  I'm not able to.
