@Phillip, yes, you are right, it does new kernel and initramfs problem,
I enter  into the other system UK1410 and modify the grub.cfg,  update
/boot/vmlinuz..... to the latest kernel, it works.

 I found the problem more than once, so  I raised this issue, I hope you
pay attention.

  Description:
  I had installed multi-operating system, mint, Ubuntu Kylin 14.04, Ubuntu Kylin 14.10, leading by UK14.04 by default.
  I run update-manager in UK14.04, when it run update grub-pc, update-manager crashed, I had to restart the system, UK14.04 could not login,detail in attachment. the others two system login correctly. when modified the grub.cfg in UK 14.10, UK14.04 login normally.

  OS:UK14.04 32-bit  UK14.10 32-bit  mint-64bit
  machine:dell vostro
