Public bug reported:

I got cron mail today from /etc/cron.daily/upstart telling me what
version of Upstart I was running. I don't really need to be e-mailed
this. :-) Please could you redirect the stdout of "initctl version" to
/dev/null as well as its stderr?

** Affects: upstart (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Fix Released
