It appears that you have a disk drive that is throwing errors, probably
due to a bad sata cable.  Can you try fixing the hardware issue and
installing again?

Bug description:
  I started the installation of Ubuntu, and when application was
  configuring the Ubuntu core, it crushed. I don't know why, but maybe
  it was because of my HDD, it might be broken. Check this bug and
  protect other users of Ubuntu from this error
