Just to make this machine readable, the error is in installing the base
system:

No installable kernel was found in the defined APT sources.

You may try to continue without a kernel, and manually install your
own kernel later. This is only recommended for experts, otherwise you
will likely end up with a machine that doesn't boot.

  utopic i386 alternate installer does not find kernel

Status in “debian-installer” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  To reproduce boot the daily live utopic-alternate-i386 daily from
  10-13. Then continue through testcase 1437 to install to the entire
  disk it will create paritions, write to disk, and then try to load
  kernel and say it failed to load the kernel.

  Ubuntu 14.10 utopic unicorn i386

  the version of debian installer is
  debian-installer (20101020ubuntu348)

  I expected this to install a kernel and boot instead the installation
  could not find a kernel.
