Public bug reported:

I am trying to install ubuntu-gnome 14.04 Desktop through a USB drive.

Installer crashes after copying some files. The error message is "[Error
30] Read only file error and goes on to say that either the CD/DVD or
CD/DVD drive or my hard disk is old/bad or move the Hard disk to a
cooler environment. I have tried writing the iso image several times on
freah DVDs, changed my DVD writer and also changed my hard disk.

I have checked the md5sum of the iso image and it matches further I have
checked the USB drive for defects but there are no errors. I have
checked the HDD using Disk Utilities (SMART) and the result is "Disk OK"

My system details are:
Gigabyte MB - H61M-S1 Rev 3.0
WD Blue 500 GB Desktop Internal HDD
RAM - 4 GM
USB drive - HP 16 GB
