Solved the issue (states it very clearly in the
VarLogDistupgradeMainlog.txt file):

Uninstalling that program and clearing all the 'Other Software' options
I added, fixed the issue.

   This can be caused by:
   * Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
   * Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu
   * Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu

  If none of this applies, then please report this bug using the command
  'ubuntu-bug ubuntu-release-upgrader-core' in a terminal."

  I do have one or two programs that are not from apt-get, but would be
  nice to know what software is causing the problem and what I should do
  to fix it.
