Title:
  plymouth does not recognize resolution

Status in “plymouth” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  I am trying to change the splash screen resolution by using this[1]
  BASH script which uses uvesafb kernel module, but it does not take any
  effect. Nvidia propriety driver is being used for VGA device.

  Steps to produce problem:
  1- Install nvidia propriety driver
  3- Install v86d package
  3- Use the script and change resolution
  4- Reboot
