One thing to be aware of is that you are running a distribution that is
based on a release of Ubuntu that is no long supported (Ubuntu 13.04)
and that you are trying to upgrade to another unsupported release
(Ubuntu 13.10).  Having said that you've also encountered an issue with
upgrading and the xorg-edgers PPA.

Bug description:
  The summary explains it all. I am currently using linux Ultimate
  Edition 3.8 on a really old laptop. It has an AMD Mobile Athlon 64
  with ATi Mobility Radeon 9600 Turbo graphics and 512MB of RAM on a
  60GB mechanical hard drive (I don't remember the RPM speed). Hope that
  helps.
