Public bug reported:

Is Sony Vaio PCG-GRX550 too old to run Trusty Tahr? Also have an HP
Pavilion DV6000 that seems to be running Trusty Tahr Xubuntu without
displaying anything on the screen...? They both ran earlier versions of
ubuntu without hiccups. Maybe somehow I can fall back to the distro that
worked with these laptops, but I need a lot of help getting there. I
barely know what I'm doing, but obviously know enough to sabotage my
installations.
