[Bug 1373894] [NEW] System does not boot after installation - ends with black screen (Kubuntu)

Public bug reported:

All the installation steps when using VirtualBox seem to work just fine.
After reboot though we have only black screen but we should be able to
run the system. In syslog there is an entry related to plymouth:

init: plymouth-stop pre-start process (1405) terminated with status 1

There is a full syslog attached so please check it for detailed
informations.
