I'm running ASUS Z97 Pro with 5x 500GB SATA drives as a single RAID5
volume of 1.3TB.
During installation of ubuntu, (14.04lts x64) I am unable to manipulate
the partition table and I get the same ???.??? popup on the time zone
selection screen, and the installer then fails back to the disk
partitioning screen.

Title:
Partition on FakeRaid fails during installation of ubuntu 14.04
Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
During the installation of ubuntu 14.04 the paritioner fails with a non-helpful error message. An error window appears, containing only question marks.
I've found out that the partition table, or just the entries, are written unsuccesful to the FakeRaid volume.
Using GParted to create the partitions first and later just install ubuntu seems to work, only have trouble installing the bootloader to the proper location.
syslog and partman will be attached.
