The ubuntu package in -proposed had been tested alongside a large MAAS
Cluster in real hardware, and verified that there are not regressions in
what we are using it for.

Why would this be a design change ?

Bug description:
  If a large object is greater than 2gb then calls to seek and tell will
  fail with an OperationError. This is because of the use of lseek and
  ltell instead of the lseek64 and ltell64.
