Public bug reported:

Installing Ubuntu Gnome 14.04.2 from USB drive created in GNOME Disks tool. Boot from EFI not available, but this system is in UEFI mode. Technically this should be two tickets, but I'm jaded of filing bug reports.
Failed to install grub, and then installer crashed. On this computer Fedora and OpenSUSE are the only distro's that install correctly. The dual disk (2.5" and M.2) and the Broadwell HD5500 have been a headache since day one.

Ubuntu 14.04.2
grub2 2.02~beta2-9ubuntu1
ubiquity 2.18.8.6
