Eric,
Thank you very much for answering. ROS is exactly what caused it in my
case. I since removed ROS, and I am currently running 15.04 as I type this
message right now.

Title:
"Could not calculate the upgrade. "12.04 ->14.04- openmpi dependency
issue
Status in ubuntu-release-upgrader package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Status in update-manager package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Could not calculate the upgrade. An unresolvable problem occured while
calculating the upgrade". There are no details in the error dialog
about what went wrong. A screenshot of the error dialog and the usual
Ubuntu-collected information is attached.
This is a dupilcate, of course, but the bug reporting system won't
find the correct bug report (Bug #1274672 ) even if the exact title or
number is given. A Google search indicates 1,100 hits related to
"could not calculate the upgrade". So it's probably a real bug.
Some comments on this bug indicate that "cinnamon" is the problem.
"Cinnamon" is not installed.
