[Bug 1481172] [NEW] Ubuntu will not install. Grub error.

Public bug reported:

Just trying to do a full re-install of Ubuntu and it fails trying to
finish the install at what appears to be one of the last steps which is
to add the bootloader. It says it is a critical error. There is no way
to get past this. It fails the install and won't load, so there is no
way to boot up Ubuntu at that point.

Even worse, Ubuntu has re-formated my drives to a new format (MPT?) that
Windows doesn't recognize and can't do anything with, so I am stuck
without a way to get Ubuntu installed and can't go back to Windows
either. Which means my entire new PC is completely down.

I guess I will look for a way to wipe out my hard-drives (by the way, it
appears that BOTH my physical hard-drive and my SSD were modified by the
Ubuntu install because neither are recognized by Windows to be in NFTS
format,w hich it likes). I never asked for Ubuntu to do anything to my
1TB hard drive. Only asked for Ubuntu to be installed on my 240GB SSD.
Completely confused by this one. Why would your software do something
that it wasn't asked to do?

Any help to get past this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Chris
