This happens to me no matter which USB stick I use, and no matter how
the sticks are formatted.

  Make Startup Disk fails to wipe disk

  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Using a Kingston DataTraveller 16GB stick, I ran into an error dialog / hang on "Erase Disk".
  Here's one flavor of the problem (be careful)

  1) wipefs -a /dev/sdc
  2) usb-creator-gtk
  3) click 'Erase Disk'
  4) give your password
  5) scratch head and click 'Erase Disk' again

  Expected: disk declared erased
  Observed: error dialog saying
  "org.freedesktop.DBus.Python.AttributeError: Traceback (most recent call last):
    File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/dbus/service.py", line 707, in _message_cb
      retval = candidate_method(self, *args, **keywords)
    File "/usr/share/usb-creator/usb-creator-helper", line 292, in Format
      block = obj.get_block()
  AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'get_block'"
