Public bug reported:
I'm using Ubuntu 16.04 dev with winbind 2:4.1.20+dfsg-1ubuntu5 and if
I'm starting applications with Wine I'm often seeing the line
"err:winediag:SECUR32_initNTLMSP ntlm_auth was not found or is outdated.
Make sure that ntlm_auth >= 3.0.25 is in your path. Usually, you can
find it in the winbind package of your distribution.". Installing
winbind solves this issue but has the disadvantage that several
additional unneeded services are then running in the background even if
Wine is not in use. Maybe ntlm_auth can be separated in its own package
so that it can be installed to satisfy Wine without needing all the
other stuff.
** Affects: samba (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
