Package software-properties not installed and no hook available,
ignoring

please note though that i am using the ubuntustudio live dvd as i cannot
boot from the sda (the ssd on which trusty tahr is installed) where the
trouble started.

this is the problem now.  i tried boot repair and ff is the paste bin

Bug description:
  Since three days ago all my checkmarks on  boxes  in ubuntu
  software/other software/updates disappeared.  so did all the
  checkmarks beside all the ppa that i added. software and updates
  cannot be changed or edited.
