This is not a bug with the release upgrade process, rather with the
system after the upgrade. Subsequently, I am removing the package
assignment.

  After pure installation of Ubuntu 14.04.1 none of my USB3 ports works.
  I tried to connect few devices, no response in Unity nor KDE, but lsusb can see them:
