I can confirm this bug.  64-Bit Installation  was done with VMware Player 6.0.5. 
I'll add installer data and kernel log.

  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Installing Xubuntu Desktop i386 for Vivid Daily (image from
  2015-02-23) on Virtual Box, manual partitioning, stops at the
  "Reverting lockdown of the desktop environment" step and doesn't
  finish the installation process.

  Last entry in /var/log/kern.log claims: hfs: can't find a HFS
  filesystem on dev sda2
