Title:
update-grub generates buggy menu.lst if it doesn't exist
Status in grub package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
Binary package hint: grub
I've deleted menu.lst and then I've used update-grub to generate a
new one, but it had generated a menu.lst containing an invalid option.
To be more precise update-grub inserted this line
"kopt=root=/boot/grub/D=d0715ae0-e29f-4447-83f6-d1564785c6ae ro"
so my system doesn't startup, because it doesn't find the device.
The correct string should be "kopt=root=UUID=d0715ae0-e29f-4447-83f6-d1564785c6ae ro"
grub version: 0.97-29ubuntu53
Ubuntu 9.04
