Title:
grub configfile /boot path prefix addition when partition itself is
  /boot (in rootfs fstab)

Status in grub package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: grub

  Very similar to bugreport: #317085
  https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub/+bug/317085

But, pulled and installed fresh jaunty on 2/14/09 3AM EST. And had
similar/same problem after install. However, I'm using md devices as
well as ext4 on them. By editing the menu.lst to take out the
extranneous /boot that was in there for my ext2 boot partition, I was
able to get grub to boot. So, the fix in #317085 of taking out the
trailing '/' on the boot partition on fstab doesn't neccessarily fix
the fact that the grub file config'd during install is still generated
improperly. (Maybe the trailing '/' from #317085 doesn't totally fix
  what I'm having here?)

I've also issues where the initramfs claims to not see the /dev/md device but it's there, and ctrl-d'ing outu of busybox continues to boot.
Which I'm filing under another bug now.
