Title:
  keep numbered backups of menu.list

Status in grub package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: grub

  1) 9.10
  2) 0.97-29ubuntu59
  3) keep multipe (numbered) backups of menu.lst
  4) only one backup is made

On runing update-grub a backup of menu.lst should be made. But not only the last run (which I know is in menu.lst~) but it would be nice to have 10 (menu.lst.bak.0 .. menu.lst.bak.9). For example after a dist-upgrade the menu.lst and menu.lst~ are identical even if the menu.lst before the update was completly different. This way I lost kernel parameters and information about old kernels.
