  power failure during upgrade to 9.10

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: grub

  With about 10 minutes left for completion of upgrade there was a power
  failure.  First only the login screen of 9.10 was available. Now the
  gnu loads but with limited nvidia video card capabilities.  Also, the
  touchpad does not work. The gnu login screen is of the new version but
  during bootup the 9.10 version is not shown.
