[Bug 1407456] [NEW] ubiquity installer crash Win 7 / VirtualBox

Public bug reported:

Attempted a fresh install of Ubuntu Desktop 14.04.1 LTS then 14.10 on VirtualBox (on Windows 7 x64, AMD). The following installer errors occurred.
N.B. I am using a dynamically assigned disk

1. install.py error when running install from the "CD" boot menu (this is unrelated to this post)
2. ubiquity error near the end of installation when no previous OS exists
3. ubiquity error when erasing and reinstalling OS after previously failed installation. This occurs during the installer UI and contains information I reported using Apport.

Unfortunately I'm new and can't be of more help than this. If someone
has a recommendation for a more compatible VM I'm all ears.
