Title:
$prefix wrong after update to grub when using wubi

Status in grub2 package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: grub2

After installing several updates to Ubuntu 9.10 and restarting my
system I was presented with the GNU GRUBs rescue shell. After
discussing the problem with the online IRC community they came to this
  conclusion:

$prefix is being set incorrectly by grub-install. In my device it
should be (loop0)/boot/grub and instead it was (hd0,1)/boot/grub.
