Yes, you got a corrupt installation medium.  A lot of USB sticks are
very cheaply constructed and sometimes corrupt the data you put on them.
Formatting it and recreating it will likely fix it.

  the creashed message implies the CD/DVD was badly burned but i am
  using an USB, also that it may be due to cooling conditions.
