[Bug 1473718] [NEW] Hooks not working (not executed)

Public bug reported:

I prepared a testing environment already know as working in Trusty including some needed hooks but hook are not executed.
Doing the same in sid all are correctly working.
Today I tested 0.215+nmu4ubuntu1 recently uploaded in wily and fix the problem.

I think that probably is good backport it to Trusty and other version as I think hook correctly working is important (update contain also other fixes)
I already test it backporting in Trusty with my ppa, no regression found for now:
