Actually, it looks like this isuse might have been fixed at some point.
The attached screenshot is taken with update-manager 1:15.04.07 on
Ubuntu Wily.

I triggered that issue by running update-manager, starting an upgrade
and disconnected from the network. After a while I got the dialog with
the error message, which was selectable, but no longer editable. I can't
say exactly when this changed, but maybe this should be Fix Released
instead?


dino99: Please note that even if bugs are reported towards an earlier
release they might still be valid. I've seen plenty of bugs which have
survived through the years. If they are still reproducible, it doesn't
matter much at which point they were reported, because they still
represent a problem which should be fixed. :)

  When update manager hits an issue (such as shown in the screenshot) I
  can edit the text in the details box. Should this be possible? Surely
  you don't want someone to accidentally delete this text?
