This time I used mkusb to create a 'clean' boot drive. Now there is an
option to auto-resize:
'Installera Lubuntu 15.10 vid sidan av Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS' which
translates to 'Install alongside'
-o-
It seems that the problem was that I booted the installer via grub2 and
the iso file: 'grub-n-iso', which seems to have confused the
alternatives of the installer.
** Description changed:
During isotesting of Lubuntu, I did not get any option to auto-resize,
only upgrade 14.04.2 LTS, erase 14.04.2 LTS, erase the whole drive, and
'something else'.
It was not possible to run the testcase 'Install (auto-resize)'.
(Furthermore, the system 'found' Linux Mint, but it was only a trace of
an erased Linux Mint iso file and maybe some configuration file.)

+ Edit:
+
+ I think the problem was that I booted the installer via grub2 and the
+ iso file: 'grub-n-iso', which seems to have confused the alternatives of
+ the installer.
