"grub-n-iso" is a nickname for booting via grub2 and an ISO file. This
is documented at several places in the Ubuntu Wiki and Help pages, and
there are some tutorial threads at the Ubuntu Forums. See for example

To be precise, I was using a pendrive created via the 'grub-n-iso'
method for iso-testing of

that I made (and shared in that link).

Title:
no option to auto-resize when booted via 'grub-n-iso'

Status in ubiquity package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
During isotesting of Lubuntu, I did not get any option to auto-resize,
only upgrade 14.04.2 LTS, erase 14.04.2 LTS, erase the whole drive,
  and 'something else'.

It was not possible to run the testcase 'Install (auto-resize)'.

(Furthermore, the system 'found' Linux Mint, but it was only a trace
of an erased Linux Mint iso file and maybe some configuration file.)

  Edit:

I think the problem was that I booted the installer via grub2 and the
iso file: 'grub-n-iso', which seems to have confused the alternatives
  of the installer.
