Title:
[MIR] markdown
Status in markdown package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
markdown is a build-dependency of the dh-lua dh helper.
It's used to generate the dh-lua documentation from a markdown
document.
markdown is an unprivileged perl script which converts a markdown
document into an html document.
Ubuntu is in sync with Debian. Development of the markdown tool
appears to be mostly stalled but bug history on either Launchpad or
Debian looks reasonable.
If there's a concern with promoting this simple tool to main, an alternative is to distro-patch dh-lua so that the documentation stays as markdown and isn't converted to html at the cost of future maintenance on our side as Debian would be unlikely to accept that regression on their side.
