Public bug reported:

The Python 2.7.8 in Utopic contains backports for the TLSv1.1 and 1.2
protocols in the _ssl module; however the TLSv1.1 and 1.2 is not usable
/ at least enforeacble on Python 2.7.6 as shipped with Trusty. Given the
number of security woes lately in OpenSSL, and the possibility of
breaches in TLSv1, it would be worthwhile to preemptively apply the
https://www.python.org/dev/peps/pep-0466/ to at least Trusty.

** Affects: python2.7 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
