Here's a screenshot... I"m having the same problem. I have tried usb-
creator a couple times a year every year for the past few years and it
has *always* failed due to bugs. It would be great if new user's first
experience with trying to install Ubuntu could be a lot smoother!

Title:
usb-creator-gtk tells me there is not enough free space on a
completely emtpy USB stick
Status in usb-creator package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
why does usb-creator-gtk have to be so buggy?
It is now telling me that my empty 4GB USB stick doesn't have enough
free space for a 1GB desktop iso image.
see the attached screen shot. And here is info on my device:
/dev/sdb1 3.8G 20M 3.8G 1% /media/bladernr/077BB9746C036A50
just to make sure that the disk and fs on it were good, I creted a
couple files on it, but there is 3.8GB free space, usb-creator-gtk
fails to see that and refuses to make my bootable usb stick.
Once again, I have to fall back to unetbootin because this tool is
broken.
