You are using a GPT partition table in a bios booting machine.  This
requires a 1 mb bios_grub partition.

  grub-installer failure

Status in grub-installer package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Install completes to the 80-90% range when this message appears: Grub-
  Installer failure,cannot install grub on sba choose another location
  or enter manually. You are not told where to get it or how to install.
  This is a Mac Pro 2007 model with the 7300GT graphics card,32-bit EFI
  , 64-bit architecture, with 8 gig of ram installed. Also tried to
  install 14.04 32-bit but it won't even read the disk. I am currently
  trying to install 12.04 LTS.
