I am running Ubuntu 15.10, and I have the same problem with gparted.
Unfortunately, neither adding the line:

export
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib/vmware/lib/libglibmm-2.4.so.1/:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH

to /usr/bin/vmplayer, nor reinstalling libgtkmm-2.4.1v5 has solved the
problem.
