This is the first error encountered:

Setting up python-chardet (2.0.1-2build2) ...
Segmentation fault

dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of python-debian:
 python-debian depends on python-chardet; however:

I'd try running sudo dpkg --configure -a in a terminal.
