Bug description:
  Certainly by 13.2.0-1ubuntu1 (trusty), fromBytes blows up when handed
  an ipv6 address, because of an assumption that the only valid use of a
  colon is as part of a port specification.  See also bug #1372767.

  Patch attached which should fix the issue, though it is against
  1:15.2.1-1ubuntu1, and needs a "s/URI/_URI/g" before it will apply to
  the trusty version.
