workaround: i could proceed with install after i switched chipset type
of virtual machine to ich9

Bug description:
  i have downloaded 32-bit image of kubuntu 15.10 and booted with it my
  newly created virtualbox virtual machine, see attached image. i'm
  using win8 64-bit
