This affects me today (2015.09.09) on two computers  running Ubuntu
14.04LTS.  has it been fixed in 15.04?

It looks like this bug has been around for several years, why no
corrections yet?

  Tab key reveals the following options..   live live-install check
  memtest hd mainmenu help

  Typing live proceeds to boot into desktop.
