"Vinux" is not an official Ubuntu flavor, and so is not supported here.
Please use an official Ubuntu image.

  Doing dual boot installation with Windows Vista onto a separate 20GB
  partition with 2GB swap file.  Installation proceded past data entry
  and well into downloading files from Vinux iso on USB and from the
  internet connection.  Suddenly failed.
