What is the difference in starting MAAS for a region controller vs. a
rack controller? Are there specific parameters to pass on the kernel
command-line ?

Also, I recall starting a MAAS install from the CD wasn't working at all
when I last tested (and I had to go fix it by re-adding wget or curl
support).

Adding a task for debian-cd, since we write the menu entries there, the
text display will happen somewhere between debian-cd and gfxboot-theme-
ubuntu.

** Also affects: debian-cd (Ubuntu)
   Importance: Undecided

Bug description:
  Please can we update the 16.04 LTS Ubuntu Server install menu (the one
  you get after selecting a language when installing the server). It
  should read:

  ------- START CENTRED TEXT ---------

   * Install single Ubuntu server
   * Install MAAS region controller
   * Install MAAS rack controller
   * Rescue a broken system
   * Check disk for defects
   * Boot from first disk
   * Test memory

  MAAS is "Metal as a Service", a software-defined data centre solution.
  It provides inventory, DHCP, DNS, PXE, and OS installation services,
  supporting Ubuntu, CentOS, WIndows and custom OS images.
